How do we raise money?

The ‘Friends of MV Freedom’ fundraise throughout the year

We recieve many grants and donations from local charities, organisations and commercial outlets. The Weymouth and Portland Harbour communities are spectacular with their generous support for the charity. Many loyal hostelries have collection pots, which help raise awareness of the Boat as well as raising funds – we are always amazed at and grateful for the generosity of the Weymouth and Portland community.

We are supported financially by the wider local community who generously invite us to participate in sponsored events such as the Christmas Harbour swim.

We are amazed at the generosity of local shops, clubs and leisure outlets who adopt us as their ‘charity of the year’. This helps raise funds, and our profile, which, in turn, generates income.

We also hold annual ‘fund raising events’, like our Annual Quiz Night, to which all are welcome, and which helps with our costs

Our sincere thanks to the supporters listed below
