Memories

Take a moment to remember friends and colleagues who are no longer with us.

David Bate

‘Skipper’ Dave was a regular passenger on MV Freedom and, as the picture shows, he enjoyed being able to move into the wheelhouse and steer the boat under supervision.
On 22nd June 2023, David sadly sailed to the end of his earthly life. On that morning, David, in bed with a slight fever, asked his superb Duty Carer to take him to the Freedom boat. Unfortunately, later that day, David died of an inherent heart problem.
As this glorious picture of ‘Skipper Dave’ shows, his utmost enjoyment in life was the love of the sea, particularly onboard MV Freedom.

Katie Langrishe
Katie was a regular passenger on MV Freedom with Dorset Abilities Group. She passed away on 1st April 2024 at just 44 years of age.  She was always such fun to have aboard and kept the skipper and crew on their toes.  Once she knew your name, she would bombard you with questions  She was a lovely young lady, who was a joy to be around and she will be hugely missed.
